Horse No 1 KINGLY DEMEANOR (H486) Y L Chung Raced wide and without cover in the early stages and was allowed to stride forward and take up a position outside the lead passing the 1200 Metres.
Horse No 2 TURTLE AGAIN (H083) H Bowman From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Horse No 4 YEE CHEONG WARRIOR (E025) K Teetan Jumped only fairly.
When questioned regarding his riding from the 700 Metres, K Teetan stated that after improving to follow ARTHUR'S KINGDOM, he observed both GO GO GO and HAPPY HERO to commence a forward move.
He said as his instructions included that YEE CHEONG WARRIOR is one-paced and likes to obtain clear running out wide, he elected to shift out to follow those runners into the event.
He added as he did so ARTHUR'S KINGDOM improved, however, YEE CHEONG WARRIOR responded only fairly to his riding and finished the race off in a one-paced manner.
Trainer D J Hall confirmed the advice given to Jockey Teetan that YEE CHEONG WARRIOR prefers to race with clear racing room to the outside of the field in the Home Straight.
After the race, an endoscopic examination was conducted on YEE CHEONG WARRIOR at the request of Mr Hall.
The Veterinary Surgeon said this examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea.
Before being allowed to race again, YEE CHEONG WARRIOR will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Horse No 5 CLASSIC ARCHI (G295) H Bentley After the race, H Bentley reported that his mount failed to travel at any stage of the event, lay in in the Home Straight and raced in a disappointing manner.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 7 HAPPY HERO (G322) L Hewitson Jumped only fairly.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 9 ARTHUR'S KINGDOM (E194) A Badel Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 11 FASTPASS (H040) M Chadwick After the race, M Chadwick advised that from a wide barrier he was instructed to ride his mount in a conservative manner in the early stages.
Trainer C H Yip confirmed the instructions and stated he issued such instructions as FASTPASS had drawn wide and had raced in a disappointing manner in its most recent starts when ridden in a forward position.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 12 DIAMOND WINNER (H285) M F Poon Slow to begin and from a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Horse No 13 GREEN LASER (E409) M L Yeung Was found to have lost its left front hoof cast, which was part of its approved plating, shortly before being presented on course to race.
As the hoof cast could not be reset prior to the running of the event, GREEN LASER was withdrawn by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice .
Before being allowed to race again, GREEN LASER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
