With more than 9 million albums sold and five out of their six records topping the UK charts, Stereophonics certainly qualify as one of the most successful Welsh bands of all time. And what makes Decade in the Sun, their greatest hits album, stand out from so many other collections is the band's involvement. It was they, not the marketing people, who came up with the idea to 'celebrate 10 fantastic years'.
With 21 UK Top 20 hits, compiling the 19-track list could have been easy. But the trio decided to feature not only hits, like their fantastic Dakota, but also career milestones.
Their debut More Life in a Tramp's Vest is included, along with more serious numbers like Mr Writer, which rails against the media, and It Means Nothing, an emotional ballad written after the London bombings. There are also two new tracks: angry rock number My Own Worst Enemy, and You're My Star, an addictive, radio-friendly ballad.
